Another simple delicious recipe for you. This is such a versatile sauce to have in your fridge.

You can use this sauce as a base for all kinds of meals (eg. pizza base, pasta sauce...). It is so simple and so fresh.

In this recipe I'm using it as a simple pasta sauce for my family dinner.

Servings: 6

Prepping time: 20 min

Cooking time: 1 hour

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 6 tomatoes (ripe)

  • 6 gloves of garlic

  • 1/2 onion

  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1/2 cup red wine

  • a splash of balsamico vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp dried red pepper

DIRECTIONS

  • Chop the onion and garlic (finely chopped)

  • Sweat them in a pot on medium heat

  • Peel the tomatoes and chop them in rough pieces (you can peel them after dipping them in boiling water for a few second, then putting them in ice water)

  • Add the tomatoes to the onion and garlic

  • Sweat for another 10 minutes

  • Add the red wine and cook for 30 minutes

  • Stir regularly

  • After that, add the balsamico and red pepper and simmer for another 30 minutes, while stirring regularly

  • Serve the sauce with pasta, or as a base for other delicious meals
